Nature's Palette: Painting with Botanical Inks
Date: 17th January
Time: 11am - 5pm
Participants: 7
India has a rich tradition of using plant pigments in painting, a practice that dates back to ancient times. Natural pigments, derived directly from botanicals, create a vibrant spectrum of colors and highlight our deep connection with nature. Traditionally, these pigments have been used in textile designs, miniature paintings, murals, and manuscript illustrations.
Join us to explore the art of creating botanical inks from local flowers and vegetables. This hands-on workshop will guide you through the process of extracting natural dyes and using them to craft your own artworks on paper. We invite participants of all age groups to engage in this creative and playful painting experience using natural inks made from plant and vegetable inks. You'll also learn how to continue your experiments at home with our Natural Painting Craft Box.
All materials for this workshop will be provided by Nila.
