CHERRY KAFTAN - RED

Part of our Madder Collection, the Cherry Kaftan is made from soft, handwoven Jamdani in a striking cherry red, achieved using the natural dye manjistha (Rubia cordifolia). The yarns are dyed in Maharashtra and woven on looms in West Bengal by Jamdani experts.

The lattice motifs are a contemporary take on a traditional Jamdani design, added using the intricate supplementary weft technique—a hallmark of Jamdani weaving that requires immense patience, time, and skill. Large, playful tassels are individually handcrafted and sewn on by artisans at our sister organisation, LBCT, in Rajasthan. The kaftan’s finishing touches include subtle hand embroidery on the pocket.  

With its airy drape and light cotton fabric, the Cherry Kaftan is perfect for an elevated yet laid-back look. Wear it as a dress or style it with trousers for a more formal, layered outfit.  

Composition - 100% handloom cotton and madder (Rubia cordifolia).    

Care - Gentle hand wash separately in cold water. Line dry in shade. Avoid harsh detergents or liquid soaps.
