Bojagi Shirt Dress
Made using precious handwoven textiles in cotton and Jamdani, this unique Shirt Dress has been patched together using a traditional Korean bojagi technique with kantha hand-embroidery and jaali stitch.

Bojagi - a wrapping or covering cloth - represents “the wrapping of luck.” Ancient Koreans believed that the process of sewing pieces of fabric together to make a Bojagi was considered a way of asking for good luck, happiness and a long life.

The beauty from the long and slow process of hand-stitching is what makes this Bojagi Shirt Dress a special and timeless piece. The embroidery has been done by women from Shakti Samuh, after a series of upskilling sessions with the Nila studio team. Each stitch infuses the fabric with affection and carries wishes for the well-being and happiness of the wearer.

Style the Bojagi Shirt Dress on its own or pair it with a salwar or wrap trousers for a more formal, put-together look.
